Empowering voters.
Defending democracy.

We educate, empower, and engage voters

in Greenville County, SC.

As a nonpartisan political organization, we encourage informed and active participation in government, and influence public policy through education and advocacy. What we accomplish comes directly from the involvement of our members. We are a grassroots organization providing every member with opportunities to learn and educate others about issues, and take action on public policy. We need everyone to participate in democracy for our communities to be strong, safe and vibrant.

News and information

We are proud that the League of Women Voters of South Carolina is a member of Repeal the Ban SC, a coalition of nonpartisan community and advocacy organizations from across the state.  The coalition’s goal is to gather signatures on a petition that will be delivered to the SC Legislature before the end of the 2024 Session in early May.

The ban does not reflect public opinion because most South Carolinians support access to abortion in some circumstances.

When you sign the petition and share it with your network, you are showing that this is an important issue to you and that you want the law to be changed.  This can give lawmakers leverage to push through future amendments and to fight future restrictions on healthcare.

Please sign the petition and pass the information to your network!
